Albatross the Nepali Band- Excelling in their Own Way
Albatross is a Nepali rock music band initiated by a few school boys in Tahachal. They specialized in guitar music and brought about a big change in the music trend inNepal, when they started their band in the year 1999.
Formation of the Band
The band started as a three member school band and evolved into something huge and popular. It underwent many stunning changes and each change was instrumental in taking Nepali rock music to a higher level. The initial members of the band included Sunny, Avaya, and Max.
Members of the Band
Before Albatross was formed, the three members performed under the name Apple Sauce with Sunny playing the guitar, Max on Bass, and Avaya owning the drums. After Max’s departure from the band, Nitesh joined it on the vocals, while Avaya took on bass and Dipesh played the drums with Sunny playing the guitar as usual. This four man team formed the Albatross that is at present engrossed in so many performances inNepal.
The band started initially with RATM and RCHP, and moved on to do some gigs in many places around the town and also did a regular gig at the Bamboo’s club in town. Broke 17, a demo song recorded by the band was created based on the experiences of Sunny and Nitesh, who had gone broke on the 17th of the month. The song was played in the local FM channels.
Changes in the Band
Nitesh soon left the vocals and was substituted by Sirish who could sing at incredibly high crescendos. And the band started playing covers for varied music styles. HellsKitchen was their next album that had excellent strings, accurate drumming, and high vocal notes. The players started exiting the band and at present the band has Sunny, Avaya, Sirish, and Niraj.
The band is presently creating its own full length album that stresses on meaningful lyrics and has a potent and heartrending music which appeals to music lovers.
