Ghazal Singer Anju Panta
Anju Panta is a ghazal singer of Nepali origin. She is also a famous playback singer and has numerous hit songs to her credit. So far she has done over 18 films and her Nepali duets and solo song list is over 100. The best song of her career is considered to be the song Na Birse timilai nap aye timilai.
Early Childhood
Anju Panta was born in the year 1977 to Manu Panta and Bishnu Panta. She participated in the Nationwide Modern Song Competition held by RadioNepaland won the competition in the year 1988. Her victory in the show made her realize the true singing potential she had.
Career in Music
She later did many shows. Her voice quality, the projection, and the way she sang all were highly pleasing and received numerous accolades from film critics. Her songs topped the charts for several weeks and her dulcet voice was loved by the fans. Her debut in Nepali film music started with the film Bagar in which her song Kina udyo pankhi mana was a highly popular number.
Accolades and Awards
In the year 2009, she bagged the majority of titles at the 13th Close up Hits FM Music Awards Night. Best Female voice and Best Record of the year were a few of the awards received by her. Her album Nabirse Timilai is the most popular hit of hers till date. She received her Best record of the year award for this album.
Anju Panta married Manoj Raj Siwakoti in the year 2002. He is also a popular contemporary and classical Nepali singer. They split a few years back. They have a daughter together. Anju Panta’s voice is truly unique. Her modulation, capability of moving up the scales effortlessly, and lucid pronunciation all have made her loved by her fans as well as the critics alike.
